With its timely theme of ““Building the workplace of the future,” the 2023 American Conference on Physician Health was a great success. Its record attendance further underscores the continued need for a conference focused on how to improve physician well-being. The conference showcased abstracts on the latest research on effective burnout reduction tactics and offered concrete strategies to help individuals and organizations build the type of infrastructure that optimizes physician performance and satisfaction. 2021 conference materials
With its timely theme of “Achieving the Quadruple Aim: Resilient systems in times of crisis,” last year’s American Conference on Physician Health (ACPH) was a great success. The sustained interest and robust attendance for the event further underscores the continued need for a conference focused on how to promote physician well-being. The conference showcased abstracts with research findings that identified solutions organizations can implement, and best practices used to achieve joy in medicine. The 2021 conference provided an engaging forum to share innovative methods and discuss tangible strategies and tools so that structuring organizations (i.e., hospitals, health systems, practices, clinics) can begin to contribute to —rather than detract from —physician wellness. 2019 conference materials
The ACPH 2019 conference theme – “Activating health system change to promote physician well-being” focused on how to structure organizations (i.e., hospitals, health systems, practices, clinics) to contribute to, rather than detract from, physician well-being. The conference showcased research and initiatives on the infrastructure of health care systems and what organizations can do to help combat burnout and promote well-being. It provided a forum for practitioners and researchers to present recent findings, innovative methods and support systems, as well as educational programs in the following areas of physician health: consequence, driver, innovation/initiative, next generation and women in medicine. The 2019 conference was held in Charlotte at the Sheraton Charlotte/Le Meridien Hotel September 19-21. The 2019 conference presentations are available below. 2017 conference materials
The American Medical Association, the Mayo Clinic and Stanford Medicine hosted the first ever American Conference on Physician Health in 2017 to inspire organizations throughout the country to seek ways to bring back the joy in medicine for all our physicians. The ACPH 2017 conference was held in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel from October 12-13. The presentations showcased research and perspectives into physicians’ health and offered practical, evidence-based skills and strategies to promote a healthier culture for physicians.
